Alumni

The Oxford University Swimming and Water Polo Association (OUSWPA) is a network connecting alumni of the Oxford University Swimming Club (OUSC) and Oxford University Water Polo Club (OUWPC), while supporting both clubs through advice, institutional knowledge, and financial assistance. Founded in 1998 as a joint association, OUSWPA was established to strengthen links between the two clubs and provide a coordinated voice on matters of common interest. Its support has included an instrumental role in fundraising for the Rosenblatt Swimming Pool, built in 2004, before which Oxford was without a university pool.

OUSWPA is run by a committee comprising alumni from both clubs, sitting and recent club presidents, and the Senior Members of OUSC and OUWPC. The committee meets regularly to consider matters affecting the clubs and their wider alumni community. The main event in the OUSWPA calendar is the annual dinner, held in Trinity Term and open to current and former members of both clubs. At the dinner, the committee presents the Nick Thomas Award to a current member of OUSC or OUWPC who has made an exceptional contribution to club life, prosperity, cohesion and community. Named in honour of one of the clubs' great supporters, the award celebrates those who strengthen the swimming and water polo community through advocacy, generosity, good-naturedness, and respect.

Membership of OUSWPA is open to all alumni of both clubs. There is no membership fee, though a voluntary donation to help support the running of the clubs is very gratefully received. For information on how to donate to OUSWPA please contact the committee through either the OUSC or OUWPC committees.
